AD-AWARE   (for Windows)

Ad-aware is a utility program that detects and removes "spy-ware" from your computer.  Spy-ware is software, installed on your computer by various websites, that tracks your internet activity.  Spy-ware can significantly reduce the performance of your computer.  There have been instances where a computer has become unusable until the spy-ware was removed.

Click on the aaw6plus.exe and save it to your desktop.  After downloading, double click on the icon and follow the installation instructions.  After installation there will be an "Ad-aware 6.0" icon on your desktop.  Double click this icon to start the program.  Before your initial scan you should check for updates.  Click on the "Check for updates now" link.

Click connect.

When the update is finished click OK.  This update should be done monthly or more frequently if you desire.  Now you are ready to scan your computer.

Click start.

Click next.

Ad-aware will start scanning your files.  When finished, it will display the spy-ware files.  Click Next.

Click OK, then you are finished.
