MG Training

Course offerings in some counties may differ from the standard programs listed below. If you are interested in taking MG training, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL COUNTY UWEX OFFICE for specific details (such as cost, location, dates, etc.) on the program where you would like to take the course. Specialized Training will be offered in Fall 2008.

GENERAL TRAINING

General MG Training will be offered through the MG Program Office in Spring 2008. The standard program is scheduled on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 9 PM beginning January 22 and continuing weekly through April 15. TThe programs by UW Specialists and other presenters will be broadcast live from the UW-Extension Pyle Center on the UW- Madison campus to selected counties throughout the state via fiberoptic videoconferencing, DSL, or Wisline/CD power-point. However, some counties are offering their own program at different times or beginning on different dates, so you should contact your LOCAL COUNTY UWEX OFFICE. SPECIALIZED TRAINING - General training is a prerequisite for this course

Specialized Training will be offered through the MG Program Office in Fall 2008. The program is scheduled on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 9 PM beginning in late September and continuing weekly through mid-December. The programs by UW Specialists and other presenters will be broadcast live from the UW-Extension Pyle Center on the UW- Madison campus to a number of sites throughout the state via fiberoptic videoconferencing, DSL, or Wisline/CD power-point at a limited number of sites. However, some counties are offering a different topic at different times so you should contact your LOCAL COUNTY UWEX OFFICE.

MG class participants are required to have completed the General Master Gardener training prior to participating in this next level of training. Participants will be encouraged to return 36 hours of volunteer service to their community (although only 24 hours will be necessary for recertification). The programs will be broadcast to the remote sites with "live" speakers who will be including PowerPoint, slides, overheads and video in their presentations. Sites will have opportunity for interaction (Q/A) with the speakers.
