 Woody & Herbaceous Plants for Minnesota Landscapes & Roadsides

This CD, produced by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, is an excellent resource, with over 2500 photographs. It provides a database of 653 plants suitable for landscapes and roadsides in Minnesota, divided into four categories of: Tree and Shrub, Flowering Forbs, Grasses and Sedges, and Ferns. Search criteria include (but are not limited to) plant characteristics such as height, form, color, season of bloom, life expectancy, growth rate, drought tolerance, and resistance to disease and insect injury, and site specifics such as utility lines, salt spray, sunlight, topography, soil texture and pH, herbicide usage, and air pollution. In addition, you can also search plants based on common or scientific names.
