Lake Fair

Garden Stroll 2008
Chippewa Falls, WI

This year’s event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (rain or shine), sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, features six large gardens located southwest of Chippewa Falls.  Some interesting things to look for are:  a pink potting shed with a chandelier, a secret garden with hidden plants worth looking  for, ponds and a water fountain, an arbor made of vintage windows and spindles, rock gardens, plants that attract butterflies and birds and other beautiful ideas these creative gardeners have implemented. $10, includes refreshments at the Landmark Christian Church, 4140 126th, Chippewa Falls.  Tickets are available ahead of time at: Gordy’s County Markets and True Value Stores, downtown Chippewa Falls and Lake Wissota, Pick n’ Save or the Red Cross office in Chippewa Falls, the Red Cross office in Altoona. Flowers of the Garden - Glass on Glass

Get the look of stained glass by utilizing grout instead of lead and create this faux stained glass piece perfect to display in a window and let the light shine through. Start with a variety of pre-cut stained glass designs – choosing from a variety of floral designs (others designs will be available). The pre-cut design along with your choice of mosaic pieces and other colored glass is secured to an approximate 8 X 10 piece of glass using colored grout. Horticulture Therapy Training for MGVs

These workshops designed for Master Gardeners will focus on the practical aspects of barrier-free garden design, adaptive tools and equipment and the best sensory plant materials used in horticultural therapy activities. MGs who complete the program will have the basic skills necessary to successfully guide the design and construction of an enabling garden, which is designed to be universally accessible, and run programs that can be supported by an enabling garden.
