The 2004 Children's Garden
21 children ages 3 thru 12 participated in this year’s garden classes. Each child planted and maintained a 4 X 4 foot garden plot. Their gardens were filled to capacity with a tomato and pepper plant, lettuce, carrots, radishes, beets, basil, parsley, onion, marigolds and even a nasturtium or two.
We started each class by stretching our muscles. We worked together on the larger gardens, planting mystery seeds, flowers and pole beans.
We learned about composting, worms, bugs, and even snakes! Scarecrows were built, container gardens created and flower arrangements made.
Harvest day was here before we knew it! Another fun season was had by all.
