2007 La Crosse County Interstate Fair

Creating A Butterfly Garden” was the theme for the Master Gardeners booth this year.  The booth was decorated with large cut-outs of butterflies and moths with a wide variety of nectar and host plants provided courtesy of Cottage Grove Nursery & Gift Shop in West Salem and Rockwood Gardens & Floral in Onalaska.  A selection of appropriate print resources was available for distribution.  A slide sequence of Wisconsin butterflies and moths and flowers that attract them ran in the background on a notebook computer.  Garden Facts on CD was also available as a resource.   The Fair continues to be an excellent opportunity for community exposure, a reliable source of identifying people interested in MG training, and a great way to obtain volunteer hours.  Great weather!  Great booth location!  Great pork sandwiches!
