There is a great article recaping a several year project at the elementary school that started small and ended up with MGVs, community, 4H leaders and students. Please read the article in the Spooner Advocate , Oct. 8 , 2009 issue. Or see it on their website, www.spooneradvocate.com.  It's vol. 109, No.44 titled "Harvest Time."

This association, comprised of members from Burnett, Sawyer and Washburn Counties, became the 31st local association admitted to the WIMGA in November 2001.

The Twilight Garden tour and the annual plant sale in May take a huge amount of hours and are the main events of the season.  The plant sale has been so successful it has allowed us to give grants or provide money for worthy community projects including the following:

Many of our events center around the Spooner Agricultural Research Station Garden here in Spooner.  But the members in other counties have projects going on as well. Winter has sponsored a community garden and some members are involved in the upkeep of the Fort Folles LaVonne in Burnett County.
