Plant Description
Yellow Nutsedge is a perennial sedge reaching from 1-3 feet
in height. The stem is triangular and very solid. The plant reproduces
by both seed and tubers (similar to a potato). Spikelets are few to many
and are often arranged in dense spikes. The plant flowers from June-August.
Remarks
Yellow Nutsedge may be found in many types of wetland areas.
In cranberries, it is a common invader of newly planted beds. It is often
found along bed edges and center ditches. Seed is introduced by flood waters
or with vine cuttings.
