Plant Description

Witch grass is an annual grass reaching 1-2 feet in height. Leaves are about 6 inches in length and about 1/2 inch in width. The panicle is approximately 10 inches long and about 6-8 inches wide.

 

Remarks

Witch Grass is a common invader of newly planted cranberry beds. Seed is introduced as contaminated sand or brought in by the wind. Dense stands may compete with young vines. Witch grass is not usually a problem in healthy established beds.
