Photography at Allen Centennial Gardens
Photographs are a great way to remember your visit to Allen Centennial Gardens. We encourage visitors to take casual photos for their own personal use.
Professional Photography
For those people wishing to have formal, posed photos taken at Allen Centennial Gardens, a Professional Photography Permit Application must be purchased. For this purpose, formal, posed photography would include events such as (but not limited to) wedding, family, engagement, graduation, and senior pictures. The fee for this application is $31.65, which includes Dane County sales tax.
Wedding ceremonies scheduled at the Gardens are welcome to take their photographs during their rental time at no additional fee. Your wedding reservation fee includes the photography fee.
At any given time, there may be a wedding or other event taking place in the Gardens. We ask that you respect the privacy of the other people in the gardens and not disrupt by taking photos in that occupied area. Please abide by the general Garden use guidelines at all times.
It is the responsibility of the party wanting photos taken to purchase a Photography Permit. However, professional photographers may also apply for this Permit. For professional photographers who feel they will frequent the Gardens a number of times a year, they may purchase an annual permit for $150, plus tax. The annual permit is good for one year, commencing from the date of the purchase of the permit. We ask that you bring your permit/pass to the Gardens when taking photos to verify your purchase of the permit.
Commercial/Stock Photography
Projects involving commercial or stock photography (such as photos taken for publications, catalog shoots, commercials, professional videos and the like) should contact Liz Beyler (608/263-1986) with UW Communications to obtain a contract.
